Maren has begun singing the Imperial March from Star Wars as her “new song”. I’m not sure exactly why, but it is often humorous. We just got back from Boondocks for a birthday party (thanks to Austin and Becca, it was great!) and Maren used her tickets to buy a harmonica (probably worth about 20 cents). Anyway, she spent most of the ride home trying to play it. Then she calls up to me as I am driving the car saying, “Dad, listen to my new song”. Then I get the Imperial March via harmonica. Admittedly, it was the same note over and over again, but it was definitely in Imperial March rhythm!
dum dum dum, dum de dum, dum de dum…
It could be worse, it could be Darth Vader: The Musical (my apologies to both Star Wars fans and Phantom of the Opera fans for the link)

Found this Valentine’s day dining article a couple of days ago.? Apparently, White Castle in the Twin Cities shuts down their stores on Valentine’s evening and open up as a “fine dining” establishment for the evening.? In fact, it requires a reservation and they sell out weeks in advance.
I have been to a White Castle before - it’s a midwest staple, and in reality, not all that bad.? But I do find it to be cool that they would do this.? Sure… it seems cheesy, but it would be fun and certainly different.? (Not to mention cheap.)

The new wave of “guerrila marketing” might just be a fad, but you have to admit sometimes it is pretty cool. (Of course, other times it’s not thought through completely.)
Office Max will be revealing their new logo using GPS and a mobile projection system to have a giant rubber band ball bouncing down the streets of Chicago.
The ball will be seen, at various points, spinning in place, bouncing off sidewalks and soaring several stories high as it careens down Michigan Avenue into such Windy City landmarks as the Sears Tower, the John Hancock Center and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Sounds pretty cool to me. I wonder what else they can project? Oooo, I got it! How about a 100 foot tall Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man!

I received my weekly email from Disney and this week it was in regards to the suite that they have added to Cinderella Castle for the current promotion for their Year of a Million Dreams. It was interesting to read, and would be great to win. But the part that confused me the most is what is at the bottom of the page. There are all sorts of rules about the contest, the usual small print. And it also mentions stuff about being able to mail in your entry, yada yada yada. But then there is this:
For residents of Canada, a mathematical skill-testing question must be correctly answered to win any prize.
Huh? What’s with the Canadians? Is it just Disney that feels they need to test the mental capacity of the Canadians, or is this some sort of government rule? And if it is, why? Makes no sense to me… but it does make me laugh.

Someone at work today was wearing a t-shirt that simply said “More Cowbell” on the front of it, with a picture of a cowbell. (It’s casual Friday
) Made me stop in my tracks and start laughing.
“I’ve got a fever… and the only prescription is more cowbell!”
If you don’t know, “More Cowbell” is in reference to a SNL skit done back in 2000. It is one of the funniest things I have seen. I think I might have to get me one of those t-shirts.
